Harlem Shakes out Gangnam Style

This latest  viral internet trend has taken YouTube by storm over the last week .

In the  30 second video using Baauer soundtrack. It starts off with one person (usually with a helmet) starts to dance while everyone is attending to their daily business and when the beat drops  the room explodes with everyone frantically break out in a madhouse dance.

Thousand of parodies have been made within hours , with a average of 4,000 upload a day for a week.

From the orginal bunch of guys in their room to Anderson Cooper Live  youtuber have taken very quickly to it.

Notable parodies  have been Google,Firefighters, Offices , African household and even Good Morning America Today’s show

On Wednesday the 18th thousand of sites including major websites such as Google, Wikipedia and my blog host wordpress.com blackeout. This was very frustrating especially when browsing and using my favorite search engine and when it came to visiting my blog.

This was a strike against the new legalisation SOPA(Stop Online Piracy Act) in debate in US Congress. I didn’t fully understand the viral on-line protest until I watcheda new released video on American civics at khanacademy.com ( below)
This act will sentence doom to websites that have helped my education like khanacademy.com. Salman Khan explain this in his video on SOPA/PIPA.

In the video Khan breaks down the Act in plain english instead of political jargon. And educate public on the new legalisation. Many websites from social networking sites (Facebook,Twitter,Google+ etc ) to search engines (Google,Bing, Yahoo etc). This threatens the internet freedom of speech and expression,and less freedom of exchanging information. And will become similar to the great firewall of China.
